the UN just came out and said the world hasn't a hope in hell of making the targets, we are all doomed. The uk contributes 1% to emissions, so what exactly is the point in getting distressed about something we cant change or even impact in a meaningful way

There was a fire in my kitchen, so I let it spread to the rest of the house rather than phoning the fire brigade and getting distressed about it.

Our 1% won’t make a jot of difference to things in the uk though so that isn’t even a moderately good comparison

Exactly.. the main countries don’t give a damm and our 1% is a pizz in the ocean
