I do think the risk needs to be taken when it's Paedophilia imo.
If the Paedophile has already molested a child they're a danger to children, and if they only serve a 3 year prison sentence, yes the child that was molested will probably have been spared death by the Paedophile, but in 3 years time the Paedophile can just go around and molest more kids and even improve their craft from the time that they got caught.
