I read the other day that the original Resi 4 was cancelled (as Resi) and spun off into the first Devil May Cry . But some of the assets and ideas still made it into Resi 4. The "castle" part of the game makes SO much more sense with that in mind.

Basically the idea was that they wanted 4 to be more action-focussed but found that they went too far into action and scaled back - but they still LIKED the action game they had made - just not as a Resi game - and thus Dante was born . I guess he does have Leon's floppy hair...
