They were still doing it when I was at the end of Primary School but it was like some sort of bizarre lottery - they randomly took 1/3 of the boys in the year and did the ball-squeezing! Thankfully I wasn't one of those picked but I remember the day so clearly, everyone sat around white as a sheet waiting to see whose names would be called ... the faces of dismay on the kids who were called... their slow walk to the door with their head down.

What on earth they gained from testing a random selection of kids, I do not know??
