Ideally these things wouldn't start circulating until the facts are more established but information travels too quickly for that to be possible these days. I also don't class these things in particular as "none of the public's business" - I do actually think it's in the public interest for us to know that so many of the very high paid faces that have been all over our screens for decades are just dirty bastards...
