I knew about them due to being apart of the Sonic The Hedgehog fandom, and there are a subset in the community that are Furries.

I grew up watching Eurotrash. So It's not that I don't know about weird kinks. But I didn't know what a furry was. It's pronounced the same as fairy. So I thought it was just what homosexuals used to get called. I didn't realise it was a way for the pervert generation to justify their kink of beastiality.
