I didn't say she's a weakling, I said that she knows that the "correct place" for women in the Royal Family is to be demure, agreeable and mostly silent while the men run their mouths with impunity. Really one of MM's main "crimes" (from the Royal perspective) was opening her mouth a bit too much.

I don't see how that's even vaguely related to what's being discussed, let alone "the point".

She got her husband to voice her opinions, which was pretty effective

It's about all of the Royals, it's a bait thread pointing out that the Royals (all of the Royals) have German ancestry.

The clue was in the term "family arsehole colours"

it wouldn't actually surprise me if the feud was engineered by the royal family to keep it relevant and in the news as the queens reign ended and charles took over

That is rubbish. Whilst in the Royal family, Meghan gave her opinions on mental health and feminist issues. Those issues were absolutely fine. I don’t recall any stifling of her opinions at all.
It was what came after, the lies, the badmouthing, that were her ‘crimes’, as you put it.

You forget the Royals are meant to be apolitical. The only Royal men who ventured into political territory were Philip and Charles. Prince William does not, neither does Edward nor Andrew. William concerning himself with homelessness and the environment is hardly ‘running his mouth off with impunity’.

Jet hard at work rewriting history for a family that wouldn't stop to scrape him off their wheels if they ran him over in the street.

It's no more hard work for me than it is for you doing what you are doing.

When you have no answer to a post, you divert or get personal. It's immature.

If Meghan is so wonderful, why has she done nothing of merit in her own right (that doesn’t involve trashing the Royals and being a victim) in the last 3 years?
Even keeping a tight grip on her Royal title the Duchess of Sussex on everything she does hasn’t worked.

Her only notable independent venture was her podcast with Spotify, who have dropped her, a top Spotify executive calling her a grifter and untalented.

I didn't divert it or get personal; I quite clearly stated that I think your post is rewriting history. I'll try to keep it simpler in future to avoid confusion.

Meghan's thoughts and opinions were not considered to be "absolutely fine" while they were active Royals, hence them ... leaving.

Rewriting history to make out that everything was dandy until they went stateside and "started their terrible campaign of lies for no reason/maybe evil". It's just nonsensical isn't it.

That was not why they left. As you think it was, what thoughts and opinions were not considered fine while she was still an active Royal?
As you are saying so, give examples.

What have you done over the last 3 years? What have I done? What have any of us done, especially considering part of that time was pandemic?

You do know she was on a hit TV show on her own merits? She didn't get to meet a prince because her parents had money. A successful person is automatically less able to deal with other peoples sh1t, and more likely to push their own personalities forward.

You're denigrating a woman for not working out with Spotify, and she made a fortune, so what are you using to measure success by? Because if you're selling something and you make a lot of money selling that thing, then you've been successful.

My examples would be all of the reasons they've given for leaving, i.e. all of the issues they had with the UK press and their experiences living in the UK and the lack of forthcoming help from the Royal firm. But I already know that you don't believe their account of why they left so it would be a complete waste of time to go into any detail.

They should have just toughed it out, we've seen already how much people all have lost interest in them. They would have been another Beatrice and her sister for a couple of months then like them, totally forgotten.

Which would be the case right now had they not had the payoff from the family nor the name of the family.

Its absolutely pathetic to defend this couple, and there morals.
