In absolutely no world of reality is her joking on HIGNFY more nasty and malicious than a man going on an unprovoked misogynistic rant about how he doesn't want to "shag" a woman he disagrees with politically (he also wasn't joking and has since doubled down). Trying to act like Carol's comments were worse or even equivalent is truly called mental gymnastics and I don't believe anybody actually thinks that, it's just desperately looking for a "gotcha!" moment because they know their defence of the indefensible with Laurence and the attempts of making this out to be some kind of witch hunt aren't working.
