My school did those…and a school cruise. I was a twin so my parents couldn’t afford to send both of us
But I did go on a PGL activity holiday canoeing and camping in the south of France cos my twin brother didn’t want to go

This has just happened to my son. They are going to Berlin but he didn't get selected and is gutted too.....(me not so much as theu wanted £900 for a3 days )
