Gutted, I was just watching the Friends reunion the other day and it was sad how terrified he said he always felt that people wouldn't laugh at his jokes and how much he needed that validation, especially knowing all the struggles he was going through during filming. It's amazing how he was still able to perform that role so perfectly. I watched him quite closely during the Reunion because of that and you could see the effects of those problems he'd had but it was also really touching how happy he was to see Matt Le Blanc again and how he talked about his relationship with the others

Even now Friends is such a comforting TV show for me and something I could still watch and laugh at any time. I'm glad he started to appreciate how massive his legacy was and how much that show meant to people
