Not making excuses like I said - that he stuck her in the boot then into a barn to die is bad enough and clearly criminal.

However, I've still been unable to find anything at all that suggests that the dog was dragged on purpose in the first place, rather than through negligence. Being accurate is quite important; injuring the dog in an accident and then failing to get it proper attention makes him a horrible arsehole. Delierately tying it to a car and driving off would make him a psychopath. I don't think there's any indication that that's what happened though.
