I'd never thought I'd say it but it's 6c degrees here and it feels 'warm' compared to minus 6.

The Met Office has extended its amber wind alerts to cover most of the UK in a rare move ahead of Storm Isha tonight - warning of potential "danger to life" in some areas.
Storm Isha, the ninth since September, is expected to bring winds of up to 80mph, potentially causing power cuts and increased congestion as roads and bridges are likely to be shut, while rail and bus services could face delays and cancellations. Two 12-hour amber wind warnings will be in place from 6pm on Sunday until Monday morning. One stretches across central, eastern and western England and all of Wales, only missing London and parts of the South East. The other covers all of Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland. https://uk.yahoo.com/news/uk-storm-s...010200292.html |

Well I have to thank last night's winds.
![]() I had a load of washing I just hadn't got round to doing. So I did them yesterday afternoon, put them out on the washing lines and left them there all night. They were dry by 8am this morning. ![]() It's raining now, 58 miles an hour winds due over the next 24 hours. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Some UK Internal flights
landed, in Paris or Hungary. Of course, many had no passports so not permitted to leave their Hotel until the Coach arrives for the Airport. Last edited by arista; 22-01-2024 at 10:51 AM. |

Yesterday
[In Scotland, an 84-year-old man was killed after a Hyundai car was crushed by a tree on the A905, Beancross Road in Grangemouth at around 11.45pm last night. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other occupants of the vehicle were not injured.] Tomorrow the Next Storm starts Jocelyn https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...n-Britain.html |

We were driving home from Kerry yesterday and there was a big tree blocking the road, oddly two of the people also blocked by the tree happened to have chains saws in their cars so all the people blocked were able to clear it within 15 minutes

Really stormy weather here again last night.
Wind is still quite strong but not the gale force it was. And of course the ruddy boiler packed up so no hot water or heating, thankfully a plumber is due this afternoon. |
