we all know how these things go. Something any government did that was perceived as unpopular is kept by the incoming government with a .... "we will get right on it" promise that never happens

No sorry again, it's just how I think and feel as to people.

I'll hold to my thinking and feelings and won't fall in with those in power who use people's lives like this to create further division.

I agree with stopping the boat crossings totally but I do not, and never will agree with the forced sending of other human beings to Rwanda of all places.
That's the part I cannot agree with.
Never will, I think it's plainly wrong.
Rightly or wrongly that's my personal view.

YOu do realise that for the last 5 years Arsenal have "visit Rwanda" on their shirts and all around the ground?

Its not North Korea, its a nice place to go - a tourist destination

"forced sending of other human beings to Rwanda of all places."

that is racist

No it's not and don't infer the racist card to me please
That's grossly insulting.

Rwanda of all places is meant in the context of distance of where it is, nothing else.
Although HOWEVER there are rights that should be in place there for people, which are not too.

Just kindly cut out the racist accusations.
I will not tolerate that personal insulting and false accusation.

I was discussing the issue with sheriff.
He obviously thinks different to me but I will respect his views which are his.
Someday I may even be persuaded by his point of view
He didn't set out to personally insult he just made strongly his view.

As I said It is more about distance than anything else
I'd feel the same about Australia actually for the same reason.

It's not somewhere I'd like to be forced to go to myself.
Although I can take sheriff's point of the problems here from the boat crossings etc
He has expressed fears for in the UK and that's a strong point from him.

I think Rwanda has some way to go yet on certain rights for individuals.
Plus I still hold to the legal system in the UK, where the high court declared Rwanda not a safe country.
Now IF the courts decided enough change had been made so that it now was.
Then I'd more accept that.
Over a government just declaring it is to suit it's own purpose.

Nothing against Rwandans, it's just I don't think it is the place which should have been negotiated with on this issue at the present time.

Plus however, I myself don't see how this Rwanda policy will be a really successful deterrent.
We will see when and if it gets going.
Then possibly I'll be shown to be more wrong or right depending on how it does develop.

"European politicians, who were quick to denounce Britain’s Rwanda proposals,
are warming to the idea of offshore migrant processing centres & deals with
third countries". Denmark, Germany, Italy, among others ...

I haven't really been following this but can I ask a stupid question? Why is Rwanda ok with taking in all of the migrants/refugees?

Really it puts to bed the oft-made argument that the reason British people "on't want immigrants here!" is the cost in benefits. People are happy enough for 6-figure sums to be spent per person so long as it's spend on removing them rather than letting them stay in the UK.

Sure, so long as we can send away all of our own UK brand home-grown drunks, wife beaters and paedos as well.

But LT will be awful lonely at the football.

Talking

PM: No interest in doing asylum returns deal with Dublin

Rishi Sunak said he is “not interested” in pursuing a deal with Dublin on returning asylum seekers from Ireland to the UK.

The Prime Minister told ITV News: “We’re not interested in that. We’re not going to accept returns from the EU via Ireland when the EU doesn’t accept returns back to France where illegal migrants are coming from.

“Of course we’re not going to do that.”

Asked whether there were any negotiations with the EU on returns, he said: “No, I’m focused on getting our Rwanda scheme up and running.”

Yes Ch4HDnews
have their Irish Reporter there.

Showing the Illegal Migrants
sleeping on the Dublin streets

They showed the New Irish Leader in
his parliament claiming he can return them?

Nothing like what UK PM Sunak is saying.
