I think that the original Showrunner would never have put a Dexter and Debs ship on the table.

I did really enjoy Season 5 but as far as i can remember it starts going majorly downhill from there and characters start doing things they never would have before, especially Deb but Dexter too

I might be off on my Seasons tbf, but I am confident that a Showrunner change did happen.

Controversially I enjoyed most of Dexter's run, the only thing that I really just couldn't overlook was the last ever episode of the original run, that was horrible lol.
