Now we use lard in our deep fat fryer .. not just because the chips / ‘roast’ potatoes taste fabulous but its the method used by my old mum and my grandfather.. both lived to around 90

I use Lard, dripping or ghee for frying that needs a high temperature and I use lard for making pastry. Like you, that's how my gran used to cook. |
