It certainly is nothing to laugh about

Sorry I didn't realise that underneath the banana milkshake, the cup was full of acid and knives. That changes everything.

They probably will consider it assault, she may or may not be prosecuted, if she is it's political posturing because most people would in fact not be prosecuted for throwing a milkshake - it would be considered a waste of time.

However, an attempt to compare it to an acid attack or stabbing is a bit silly.

And the picture is funny . You don't get to police humour I'm afraid. He made his silly big rousing speech and would have been feeling all important and special and then he got a banana milkshake RIGHT in the pus.

It's very funny atcherly.

I am not comparing it to an acid attack I said it could have been acid. We have seen only this week a frenzied knife attack that lead to death - politcally/religious based attack.

No laughing matter

An acid attack is not a laughing matter.

A frenzied knife attack is not a laughing matter.

Nigel Farage giving a political speech then getting a banana milkshake in the face is a laughing matter.

There seems to be some conflation going on here.

Are you saying it's unfunny because he probably got wee bit of a fright?

We have been down this road before, whatever you think of politicians no one should have liquid being thrown at them condoned, sure its milkshake today, but what about tomorrow when someone else decides they want to maim a politician

You don't have to condone something or think that it's good that it was allowed to happen to find a picture of Nigel Farage getting dashed in the face with banana milkshake funny.

You can find slapstick comedy funny without thinking it would be a good idea to go out and start tripping people in the street.

Plus humour is entirely subjective - if one believes that the image is funny... then it is funny. "That isn't funny" is a meaningless statement. "That isn't funny to me" is what people actually mean. And so what...?

so what, we have just had an acid attack on a mother in London, just a few weeks back, not sure how she is doing but it was likely she could lose her sight, I think its hard enough to get decent people into politics without being attacked, I would be saying the same if this was wee Nicki as well ...not saying Farage is decent but this could potentially put people off, just like Wes Streeting not being about to travel on public transport any more....not that you had any input on that thread, I wonder why?

You'd both be chuckling if it was a politician on the other side of the fence tho.

Well yes, how was he to know it was just milkshake, it could so easily have been something else. Would shake me up if it happened to me.
