…yeah, Annie is probably correct I would say…the only thing that swayed me to Gamer was that the game became a worldwide sensation and made him extremely wealthy etc…which fitted the clue ‘we love it’…but the audience lived the Running Man as well……I think that I’m starting to overthink……

Just read through the plot of The Running Man (I have seen it but years ago) and could be this part at the end :

Richards forces Killian into a rocket-powered sled and jettisons him into the game zone. The sled crashes through Killian's billboard image and explodes, killing him.
