No surprises there, but who knew??????

Angela Rayner should hang her head in shame, begging a group of men for their votes and ignoring the fact that their wives have votes also

I think the story of the night is how close run some off these seats were, Truss lost hers by 600 votes, Stride kept his by a similar margin, for anyone saying my vote doesn't count....think again

Thankfully our local lad won again.
As a Tory voter since Tony Blair I really do think it was time for a change, if not for any other reason that the country had to have a chance to see how Labour can handle being in charge.
I don’t expect any major improvements in the first year or so at least, but hopefully it will stop the constant moaning.
Jess Phillips is one of my favourite Labour mp’s and the way she was heckled is disgusting.
George Galloway is a ruddy joke.
Best results for me was Truss going and also Ashworth.

I cannot stand the Green co leader Carla Denyer.
For some reason she annoys me bigtime.

It's incredible how accurate the exit poll was.
Apart from predicting 13 for Reform.
When it's more like only 4 or 5.
That I'm pleased to see that is was only 4/5.

I do though hope the Conservatives find the right leader when Sunak goes.
I really want them to be able to see off Reform, like Labour had to with the SDP in the 80s.
Thankfully they got well over the 100 number of seats still.
That's a fair base to rebuild from.

Hunt won by 800 votes and someone won by 20 votes, which is crazy

Starmer is going to have to listen to Farage talk about immigration at every opportunity. How long before he snaps?

My vote didn't count here, the tories won by a whacking majority as usual

the tories are going to find it a real challenge to pick a new leader, there is only a pool of just over 100 to choose from and there are a lot of crazies in there still

Aw I'm glad you got your wish smudgie re your MP.
Well done to him.

I was over the moon when I learned Galloway was beaten in Rochdale.
I just hope to see some seriousness and competence in government now.

If Labour don't act that way, I'll be hammering them more on here than I have the Conservatives.

They still have to put 2 candidates through to their membership though.
They are a fair number to vote too.

labour really got away without talking about any of their policies in detail, so its going to be interesting how that all pans out. I have to say that labour showed enormous discipline throughout the campaign and that's just not going to continue, so that will be another interesting area. I can see labour mp's getting frustrated quickly when they finally realise the money just isn't there to do all that they want and the revenue from their tax adjustments just won't cut it. I mean "getting the nhs back on track" is an almost impossible milestone to achieve

the lib dems got less share of the vote than when the clegg variant got wiped out

labour won a landslide with a share of the vote that resulted in their biggest loss in 100 years 4 years ago

The important thing is that the public wanted the tories out, and that was spectacularly successful. There were 10 cabinet ministers plus a few senior tories that got booted out last night and will probably never return

Alarmed at that tbh and not something I saw anyone talking about before the election

Surprised Hunt kept his seat, expect he'll go for leader now and will end up against either Badenoch or Braverman

Tory vote actually held up better than I expected overall given the strength of the Reform vote share
