Swiss had bad luck with Akanji's horribly taken penalty (and that plays for Man City can you imagine)

the penalty strategic subs for Switzerland were done properly by Yakin, yet also not giving up on the match to try and finish it in extra time

Swiss played an excellent tournament to get this far to quarter finals
I'm not saying that Southgate is a perfect Manager (I don't believe that exists anyway) but he is a huge step up on some of the Managers that we've had over the years.

I mean who remembers Steve McClaren's reign?

And Switzerland had at this tournament what we ironically used to do under Sven, decent performances on average that gets knocked out at the Quarters.

don't trash the LEGEND OF ENSCHEDE

also hope Germany won't sack Nagelsmann because losing to Spain in extra time was just bad luck, and he is a good manager for them, just the likes of Neuer, Muller, Gundogan that need to retire from the national team and new talent to step up

Steve McClaren was a good Manager tbf... Just not with England for some reason.

And I don't think that Germany will sack Nagelsmann, they've had their best performances in years in this tournament.

Indeed and people forget that most good managers don't want to manage at international level, they'd much rather be in club football. So the idea that we'd replace Southgate with some managerial genius is for the birds

That is a very good point imo.

Most of the best Managers are in club Football.

And some people do want to be careful what they wish for, we could end up with Steven Gerrard as our next Manager.

England dont need a tactical genius they just need a manager who has some tactical ideas. GS doesnt have any.
