If she wins the gold and stays an amateur there will be huge backlash. She need to find another level of fighting.

So she very obviously doesn’t have an overt advantage over her opponents then does she if her record isn’t perfect and her opponents who aren’t babies can put up a fight against her so I ask, what exactly is the issue with her competing as the woman she is

The nearest I can think of in the mens pro game is George Foreman. He was bigger and stronger than everyone and he smashed every one. Then came the Rumble in the Jungle Foreman lost and had mental health issues for almost a decade. Then he came back at the age of almost 40 and smashed everyone again. Being bigger and stronger is a huge advantage and the fact that Khelif is losing to weaker women and cannot fully use her advantage means the fight game is probably not for her. I encourage her to find something else or retire. She's making this great sport into a circus

She's competitive but she's not dominant and that cuz she's not very good at the technical side of the sport. If she was a better at the technical side, she'd be dominant and quite scary.

To be fair though this apparently applies to a large proportion of the NBA in the US. Lots of players with far more technical skill than the tall lads who would utterly dominate if they were tall enough... But you basically have a much smaller chance of being a pro basketball player if you're not unusually tall (like over 6'8).

Im not using that as justification per se just an interesting thought... The best players aren't always necessarily the most skilled players, some element of biology can come into it.

The inverse is true of power-lifting, the squat little chaps can often lift more than guys who are taller - simple physics/leverage.

I think its true in all sport that a specific body type dominates at a younger age. Tom Brady is exhibit A. A great QB at college level but a poor athlete in comparison to his age group and so is drafted way down the order.

At a young age coaches are looking for an athlete and not really for a technician.
