you have to ask why are the media not welcome, Sky and LBC both run out of areas now? Jonathan Ashworth was also told he was not welcome while campaigning they have a problem there that needs addressing unless we are saying some areas are out of bounds for some people?

Anyone got an answer to this?

How about this for an answer:

Media companies have regurgitated these anti-Muslim/immigration talking points, often fed to them by politicians, so why would they be open to the media coming into their communities now, just to rubber neck at the violence?

Jonathan Ashworth made a completely racist comment about sending people back to Bangladesh (as was Starmer, by the way) in the run up to the election, and you wonder why he might not be welcome?

Having entirely peaceful demonstrations broadcast would be good PR, no? Chasing reporters away spins a different narrative.

The owner of the pub in Birmingham interviewed. There were kids in there as well and they were terrified.

Can you describe what's involved in those in the context of the last week.

Surely, surely you can't be describing angry mostly-half-drunk morons shouting about how those three poor young girls wouldn't have been killed "if it wasn't for all the immigrants" as a peaceful demonstration.

Honestly I mostly try not to think about how those girls deaths have been exploited for this. It's just ****ing horrendous.

No, I'm talking about the demonstrations mentioned in the post I had quoted. The ones from which reporters were chased.

What was happening at those? What were they about?

Who knows? The press were chased away. I'm sure it was perfectly peaceful though.

Muslims have been attacked pretty much since 9/11. I know because I fell into that trap, too. My bigotry was based around atheism versus the dangers of religious fundamentalism, but I was still a bigot. Those attacks have ramped up significantly over the last decade as the lead up to brexit, and the reemergence of the farage far right.

If I was in those communities, I'd probably be a little more worried about survival than PR at the moment. Those Muslims out on the streets won't be the level-headed, community leaders, especially after what they've seen happening over the last few days, and maybe a good portion of them are also itching for a fight, but it would still be in response to something.

Have you not seen the peaceful Muslims providing food and drinks to police officers? Did you not see the Muslims outside the oldest most in the uk (Liverpool) on Sunday night, handing out burgers and drinks?

Of course I have, because no thugs chased away the press when those things happened.

They can't go there. They've been chased out. They slashed the reporter's tyres. And they understandably had to leave.
It shouldn't be like this!

The racists are actively attacking the press, any word on that?
