…this is more about women/females in gaming, rather than which site it was said on…it could have been equally said on somewhere such as Reddit for instance, which has a gaming community…I imagine there are lots of game (…and other topic…)…communities/rooms on Discord which would be very female unwelcoming…there would also be many that were friendly, I would imagine…I imagine also that a game itself might have a bearing…as in, a more aggressive fighting game not being very female friendly as opposed to some other games…I’m just speculating though..

…for those who are female and gamers and like to be part of gaming communities to share news and experiences and discussions etc…then I would say that it’s a problem to not be welcomed to those communities…especially if it feels more a prejudice/exclusion type thing because of gender…

I personally have never used Discord myself.

But I have heard that you have to be very selective about what Discord servers to go on, because some can be way more toxic than others.

This is completely true. I find it hilarious how people who have no understanding of discord and how it works always seem to slag it off. They are talking about ONE server out of millions and millions on discord. And yes, there will be a lot lot worse on there than that. But they have ones for sea fishing down the south east coast, they have a server for every football team, for every sport a thousand times over. For betting, for knitting, Dua Lupa "stans". It literally has ever server imaginable. You can create one, i can create one, it can be about anything.

How do they monitor servers for cp, or terrorism, or sights that fantasised about rape and stuff..

I'm aware about the massive hullabaloo about facebook or twitter and how people have spread mis information about recent topics..it was as though the world had ended with that..

But how do discord and our governments monitor these servers that could be for people with some disgusting or sinister similar interests
