I think the fact she's labeled him toxic masculinity proves the point, that she doesn't like Marcello and wants to dictate how he behaves... and it makes complete sense he rebukes that.. especially seeing they all auditioned for the show and none of them have more of a right to be there than the other... so who is she to dictate his behavior, specifically.

It'd reflect badly on Marcello if he was like that on every housemate. But because it was Ali specifically, it must be toxic masculinity... can't be that she's just not his cup of tea...
