Travellers get a bad rap generally, but they do have a proven history of being prolific shoplifters. It's not really something that can be denied. We have a family of them in one of my local towns, they're quite famous. I often see them in Morrisons being trailed round by a group of security guards, and if they're not being trailed, just helping themself to stuff. They're also banned from several charity shops for nicking.

There are hundreds of police in Manchester at the moment, lots armed and lots undercover. I think they are there for the Christmas Markets but never seen them in the sheer numbers as this year.

Some Islamists have history of carving up shoppers, and blowing up kids at concerts, but do they stop lone men that look asian from entering!

No they do not.

If travellers had been grooming young girls ang gang raping them, would the police and other authorities have dragged their heels in bringing them to justice for fear of looking racist? No they would not.

I'm not sure they all do much to help themselves. I don't know much about the differences in the travelling community, but there are families in my local town who are notorious. Similarly, I have a permanent Romany camp not too far from me and they are lovely. I do get that they're all tarred with the same brush and have experienced shocking treatment in the past, including the recent past.

Yeah I get they get a bad press sometimes deservedly but this type of discrimination would not be tolerated in any other community and the usual voices who would be up in arms if this were happening to brown people are silent as per

why would there be a connection, they were blocking them from entering the Shopping Centre, not searching them for weapons and that included the ladies

They may be, but you cant persecute people for how they look. That is exactly what the police are doing here, and doing it for a large corporation is even worse.
