I do find this part fair enough. It is fair to say that you can't expect people to be as aware of cultural nuances in a second language.

For the mostpart, though, I do think it's worth keeping in mind that there are an awful lot of people who know fine when what they're doing when they use the "but it's in a song " excuse.
