…The Electric State……it was ok, corny as heck but I didn’t mind it too much as 8 was looking to watch something fairly light and breezy and not having a complicated plot or characters…I was just hoping for a light blast of nonsense and that’s what it gave…5/10…

…Holland……I wasn’t sure at the beginning, it took me a little while to engross in the story but it became very unexpected and really a not too bad watch at all…and Nicole Kidman is as engaging as ever…6/10…

A Minecraft Movie

7/10

I took Mini Me to see this.

I was expecting to be hoping for a swift and violent cardiac incident, to free me from the horrific pain of the movie ...

... but it was actually pretty good!

I know nada about Minecraft, but you didn't need to. I'm never going to watch this film again. But it was enjoyable!

Jason Mamoa's character was fab.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I forgot what a great film it is and what a brilliant cast. 9/10.

Watched a handful of medicore films over the weekend

Holland - Weird as **** but the weirdness of it made it a bit more viewable 6/10

The Pod generation - Also weird as **** but not in the same way as Holland 5/10

Retreat - It was ok, dragged a bit which was disappointing because it was a good cast 5.5/10

The Zone of Interest. I mainly watched it because the guy who plays the hotel manager in the latest season of The White Lotus is the lead actor in this. It was really engrossing and chilling, the contrast between the mundanity of the lives of the Nazi commandant's family and the industralised mass murder going on just next door that facilitates their good fortunes.

I rewatched a British Horror Film from 2006 called Broken.

It basically is a really small budget version of Films like Saw and Hostel.

It's not really anywhere near as good though, and the Internet connection was doing a Van Helsing to it, which wasn't helping.

The lead Actress was really attractive in her own way though, definitely hard to describe it, but she definitely kept me more interested in the Film than I would've been without her.

Overall it's probably between a 3 or 4/10 if I am to give an arbitrary score.

Boondock Saints. Norman Reedus, Billy Connolly, Willem Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flanery. Brothers turn vigilante to get rid of the crims when the justice system won't. It's old, 1999, but good. Really enjoyed it, giving it a solid 8/10.

You can't not like Dafoe. I think there's a lil bit of that Nic Cage energy in Dafoe that's become even more noticeable in the last decade or two, what with him taking on more genre work that allows him to push the envelope and go far more 'out there'.

The Flash (2023)

very enjoyable

also very nice seeing
Spoiler:

3 Batman actors in one movie: Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton and George Clooney

also as for the ending
Spoiler:

with George Clooney as Bruce Wayne/Batman, makes sense they went for this, ahead of the new superman film, considering the superman actor with Ben Affleck's Batman, was Henry Cavill of course, and considering they now have David Corenswet as the new superman

also nice
Spoiler:

we already had the film canon version of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, or at least a version of her considering that timeline is now no longer the main timeline

yes recent years, are him in his best acting form honestly

especially in Poor Things, but also Kinds of Kindness he delivered impressive acting performances

also i love seeing him off set, attending the 6 nations rugby games

Don't Worry Darling : I went into it blind, I knew the actors who were in it but I didn't realise it was (not sure if this is a spoiler or not but just in case)
Spoiler:

A remake of Stepford wives? Or was it just similar? I don't know
I thought it was very good though anyway 7.5/10

The Deadly Bees (1966)

British horror film, with a small cast. There isn't much in it but what there is there is watchable. I enjoyed it.

5.5/10.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - An old favourite. Gritty, stark, visceral horror that makes you feel like you need a shower after you've watched it.

The Graduate on BBC Player. Solid 9/10.

Seen it many times but not for a while, probably one of my favourite movies ever. I love the setting and the design and of course that Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack. It's beautifully filmed, really stylish.

Wish I could jump through the screen into that whole era of late 60's/early 70's LA.

The Penguin Lesson which is in the cinema now, just a lovely story with some dark undertones of life in Argentina in the 70s
