…there’s a media story this morning saying that a couple and adult son 'died from carbon monoxide poisoning after using generator' during the Spain-Portugal blackout…


‘The elderly married couple and their son were reportedly found dead at their home in Ourense, in northwest Spain, around midday on Tuesday.

Local reports pointed to carbon monoxide poisoning as responsible for their deaths.

Europa Press, citing sources in the emergency services, said the couple were aged 81 and 77, and their son was 56.

It quoted local mayor Alvaro Vila as saying there were "indications" the poisoning came about due to faults from a generator used to keep a ventilator going.

When a care worker couldn't get access to the property, the civil guard and the fire department were called.’…
