I don't know why people are so upset about it, her race is irrelevant to the story and by all accounts is never mentioned in the books. Also its not unusual for book characters to look a bit different to how they're described in the books. The worst one I can think of is when Tom Cruise was cast to play Jack Reacher, who was described in the book as a "man mountain"
