He fell into a deep depression after losing his job as a tv pundit …

Currently scores of ex male players are being sacked / replaced/ marginalised due to the constant box ticking where they are using the same useless female pundits to work on the men’s football matches .. they also work on the females games as well though it only works one way as they rarely feature a male expert on women’s football

We have already lost guys like Graeme Souness , Matt le Tiss , Phil Thompson .. with Roy Keane apparently quitting soon

He lost his job because the got drunk and a video leaked.....nothing to do with women though.

Careful. He’ll accuse you of being an illiterate fool next.

Fact is .. he lost his job as a pundit … which ultimately led to his suicide

That very thing is happening now , more and more frequently .. due to the proliferation of female ‘cough’ experts taking more and more of the available jobs

You are entitled to your opinion on it Zizu. I just dont think a thread about a man taking his own life is the place to use it as a platform to complain about women in sport commentaray/punditry especially when he lost his job through his own actions. It has absolutely no bearing on why Graham Thorpe took his life.

He has no filter, no boundaries, no respect for the dead, and rarely is he ever forced to take accountability. Because he’s a ‘fragile, vulnerable adult’.

Well it could have a serious effect on many of the guys being unfairly displaced by women

Thorpe fell into a deep depression immediately after losing his pundit’s role

Suicide in sportsmen is rife and rising

Surely that’s a concern ?

Suicide in all walks of life is increasing.

This thread is specifically about Graham Thorpe though and he had his own demons that he was dealing with. Blaming women in this thread just seems a little distasteful to me.

As I said you are entitled to your opinion but Graham Thorpes death whilst contributed to losing his job also was directly affected by Civid lockdowns as his wife has said. None of which had anything to do with women.

Apologies for derailing the thread ..

I do not know why you insist on being so obtuse …

I have explained my reasoning two or three times ….

Anyways I’m done now for a while ... I’ve had my ‘forum fix ..

Adios ..

Ah, there it is again. “Obtuse.” Your go-to buzz-word whenever anyone disagrees with you or calls out your sexism.

That's quite rude Zizu. I said you are quite entitled to your opinion but this is not the thread and you call me obtuse?

Adios

I personally agree.

I get where Zizu's coming from, but I don't believe that this is the right thread to be discussing women's role in punditry.
