I appreciate your optimism but I don't share it. Our squad is extremely poor really, very slow midfield and our defence is a liability

they were very poor last season, and they did nothing to improve the squad over the summer, so how can they be expected to be better now

The defence in particular has been poor in both games.

Have you got any decent players in the defence that are currently injured?
