Andrew is arrogant and self entitled like the majority of the wealthy. If you compare Andrew, to the other royals at the time, he was the one most rubbing it in the publics face which is why people basically don't like him. Most people would probably have let his behaviour go and shook their heads, but his performance in that newsnight interview turned the public firmly against him. It doesn't mean he is guilty, but he may as well be in the publics view

Most people I know don't have strong feeling about him either way. Most people of my Dad's generation remember him as a hero of the Falklands war.

i remember Andrew from the Falklands war. We are of a similar age, so i remember when he was flying in his helicopter and acting as a decoy for the ships in the fleet. The argentine missiles were a really big threat at the time and being of a similatr age I had to admire his bravery.

Really, Andrews descent into playboy happened when the queen wouldn't allow him to marry Koo Stark, his first true love. It all went downhill from there. It's a story that gets repeated over and over again with the queens family
