Is it possible nobody makes a fan thread until at least a few days/week in rather than on the launch night.

Last year we had fan threads made and then the OP stopped updating them because they then didn’t like the HM or just weren’t very active.

….hmmmmm, fan threads have always been made on launch night and on ‘first impressions’ type thing…it’s kind of always been a BB TiBB thing…(…it generally takes me a few days to get to know names etc…)…but it’s still a part of launch for many to decide on their housemate support from the off…?…its more really for anyone who begins that fan thread to keep that commitment or if they can’t or don’t want to…?…to ask someone else to take it over…

…I mean, I do understand that it’s not great for the housemate to not have the fan thread updated etc…but it has always been a part of launch/deciding on a housemate to support and making a thread if that’s what a member wishes to do ….

…I mean, the thing with fan threads back in the day…(…if I recall…)…is that the thread maker would make them work, no matter how that housemate connected or disconnected with the house……for better, for worse/till eviction we do part…

Just make them and pass them onto someone else if your original choice starts annoying you.

Thing that annoys me is the thread starters blindly following their 1st impressions chosen one.
Even when they are being complete dicks.

It is one of my bugbears tbh. Sometimes you end up with major housemates who have dead fan clubs because the OP goes off them or just loses interest, then conversely some of the less popular housemates end up with very lively ones because the OP actually cares about that housemate.

I don't think we can ban it but I would definitely discourage people making them on launch night. What's the point when you have literally no idea if you will still like that housemate two days later? It's a 7 week series not a one night one

Yeah I agree its a bit different with the celeb version because at least you have some idea if you like them or not and is the reason I dont join fan clubs until I am actually a fan

I can confirm I won't be making a fan thread for anyone with pink, green, blue of bright red hair or anyone with a ring in their nose. Plus anyone who thinks pronouns make them special.

…the thing is that I agree with Ben as well ……it’s sad to see fan threads abandoned/not updated while a housemate is still in the house…I’m totally with that…it’s that I do feel that, regardless of that…members will still make those threads because it’s always been a part of the excitement of Launch night…some fan threads have always been made straight away and I do think that there should be freedom to do that with the hope that the thread makers are committed to update them throughout the season…(…at least until it’s been agreed for another specific member to take over the updating and adding of any new fans etc….)….I’m not disagreeing, I’ve said in a few posts that I understand what Ben’s saying….it’s just that some things are just annoying or whatever and just are…I don’t understand what can be done about it/to change anything…that’s the choice of the members to wait a few days or a week or so…

…anyways, that’s clear hopefully…

…we’ll just in general, not specifically on launch week…/…whenever one is made …but then someone would have to monitor that and also some housemates can have barely any highlights for quite a while so there may be quiet periods with nothing to add to a fan thread for a little while and no new members joining…

…anyway, I’m off to sleep…as I say, I do totally get the annoyance etc but there isn’t always something that can be done to change a thing …mostly fan threads are maintained until the housemate leaves….a few haven’t alway been, I realise that but it’s just hoping that it’s realised and taken into consideration that it is a bit of a commitment….
