[Officers are at the scene of a reported
stabbing at a synagogue in Manchester,
police have said.
Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham
said the "immediate danger appears to be
over" after reports of a "serious incident"
in Crumpsall, north of the city.
Middleton Road has been closed between
Wilton Road and Crumpsall Lane,
the Manchester Evening News reported,
adding a police cordon is in place.

North West Ambulance Service said in
a statement: “Following reports of
an incident on Middleton Road in Crumpsall,
the trust has dispatched resources to the scene.
"We are currently assessing the situation
and working with other members
of the emergency services.]

Today is Yom Kippur, our holiest day.

Synagogues are targeted all the time but only stabbings and death make the news now.

I'm willing to bet the person responsible is not Far Right. I also know there will be people applauding this.

Oh well, that's sorted then.

Synagogues are attacked all the time, they have stab vests available, they employ security guards as do Jewish schools where attack drills and lock downs are a regular weekly thing. But all hear on the news is how bad Islamaphobia is in this country.

I was in Israel last week and even though it's at war, I feel safer there than I do London, where I was born.

Security guards at the Manchester synagogue intervened to stop the knifeman
killing more people, Andy Burnham has said.
