the funk of 40,000 years!
|
Watching the early days of BB really crystalises and puts into perspective just how tiresomely padded out the modern incarnation is, and how an average episode moves at a snail's pace in comparison to an episode of, say, BB2. No prolonged music montages, no endless shots of random items in the foreground, no wasting time with showing the HMs getting up and getting dressed even when nothing interesting is occurring during it all, etc. I'm currently watching a nominations episode and it's so refreshing how no-nonsense and rapid paced it is. Every HM is in and out with quick cuts and no dragged out scenes of the HMs walking over to the DR. They're just in, they give their reasons (invariably uncomplicated and quick), and get outta there. Last series of ITV BB, the nominations took up basically the whole episode. In this, it lasted barely 5 minutes, I think.

And yeah it definitely takes away from the 'reality' of the show, but as the show is so obviously manufactured and scripted a certain percentage of the time nowadays, I suppose some credit must be given for at least having some semblance of self-awareness as to exactly what it is now.

Definitely by a long , long way ! Didn’t he also win it twice !!! I did like the guy who was always talking to the cameras as well to vent his frustration (Skinny with dark hair - think he got an advert job for Mr Muscle oven cleaner) Last edited by Zizu; Yesterday at 09:25 PM. |

Alex and Jade were must see TV from BB3 imo.
Both would be ejected on ITV's era though.
