Mainly an investment for the club/owner. But whist they may bring in some revenue to the country, they drain other resources like police/ambulance etc for match days on a constant basis.

So I have no issue with money being spent on athletes for the winter olympics, when the tax I pay also goes to football (which I have no care for).

He was seen pushing the stone with his finger after release which is an offense but then got very mad when Sweden called him out for it. They've had to bring in additional judges now to watch out for it and the Canadian women had a stone taken away because one of their players was then seen doing it

Seems to be mixed opinions though on whether it actually makes a difference if they give it another nudge with their finger and whether players would be doing it intentionally or if it's just an accident or something done out of habit without actually trying to cheat

It's not that surprising that it would cost a lot of money in facilities, coaching, equipment, technology etc for a team to become one of the best in the world and compete for Olympic medals. A lot of it is funded by the lottery

Our men's game just now against Switzerland was fantastic, it can genuinely be a very exciting sport and it's very strategic but it's also a nice calm watch much of the time
