Yes, and a fantastic voice along with a magical, twinkly quality to him. He was in a league of his own.

The best version. And actually, I think Gary Oldman had watched it too because his performance in the remake looked like a big of an homage to Alec Guinness. I am a big fan of old British films and Guinness is just brilliant in everything.

Yes, there are many things about the movie version that are laudable. Some aspects (like the performances) simply come down to personal preference. Though I'd personally give it to the series in nearly every respect. And the fact that movie is able to convey most of the story in the two hours it's limited to is commendable.

Great as Guinness is in Star Wars, with such a great body of work behind him, I can see why he was a bit rankled to mainly be remembered for playing Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Re-watched the first season of The Bridge. What a brilliant series. Saga Noren is a brilliant character. I do love a scandi drama....

Fallout Season 2.

The Actors are doing their best with some horrible writing this Season.

Honestly the pacing is just typical TV on Streaming, wait until the last 2 episodes for the story to start.

It's tragic to see the TV industry become like this.

…I’ve just begun to watch The Last Thing He Told Me… ….I'm only one episode in atm but so far I’m liking it and looking forward to seeing how the plot unfolds…that might be more because of Jennifer Garner’s presence though, who’s always a great watch/rather than the storyline so we’ll see how it goes…

…I’m quite far into season 1 of this now and it’s a decent thriller/mystery, I think there might be another season after this…it’s a sound plot and cast…

@Niamh. …I think that you might enjoy this if you haven’t seen it already…

I tried out 5 episodes of an Anime called Kill La Kill.

I couldn't stand it, I honestly didn't understand the appeal of the Show at all.

And I have tried to be better at sticking with Shows (I even stuck with Brave Bang Bravern and The Traitors Ireland ffs) but Kill La Kill just broke my spirit, I didn't even like the Animation for the Show controversially.

To put some positives in there, I will say that the voice acting was good, some of the action scenes were decent, and I did like that one of the Mascot characters was called Guts (I don't know if they were intentionally referring to Berserk or not) but it gave me a chuckle nonetheless.

If it'd have been 12 episodes I'd have stuck it out, but 24 episodes was very daunting to me.

I've started a rewatch of Falling Skies.

I've only watched 4 episodes of the first Season so far, but I am enjoying it.

Yeah it is quite cheesy, but I think that I'm appreciating five things about the Show that you just can't really get altogether currently in the 2020's Streaming model.

1. It isn't afraid to be cheesy and have a style that's not "cool” and "hip with the youth” even back when it was out it weren't really seen as a trendy Show. Basically I appreciate that it has it's own style and is comfortable with it.

2. It's paced a lot better than Shows like Fallout Season 2, Severance both Seasons, and complete and utter rubbish like Pluribus imo. Which was funny because I remember thinking that Season 1 of Falling Skies was quite slow paced back when it came out, but compared to Streaming Shows it looks like it's paced at break neck speed in comparison.

3. Pope's dialogue and general writing is really fun to watch, and certainly would not be allowed today unfortunately. The Actor also delivers his lines really well imo.

4. You can actually like the protagonists, that's sadly not as common as it should be on Streaming TV Shows that have come out in the 2020's. American writers need to seriously look at fixing this particular issue imo as it's a huge problem within their current Shows that I don't believe that Falling Skies (or a lot of the US older Shows) suffer from anywhere near as often.

And 5. Attractive women actually exist in the world of Falling Skies. Yes it's a shallow thing to point out and it isn't technically needed to make a Show good per say. But it's honestly refreshing to watch an American Show that doesn't pathologically hate on attractive women existing because it might please men, or should I say "the male gaze.”

It's just nice to see that it's there, but they're so far also being well written without being treated as sex objects, because I do want the attractive women that are cast on TV to be well written too, otherwise it'd be a waste having them on the Show.

Old man yells at cloud is now over... For now.
