the price of oil affects inflation, not just on oil, but every good and service. So it affects him personally, as it will drive his popularity at home down further.

All his words yesterday were designed to take the heat out of the oil prices. Whether the war actually stops isn't really up to him. If Iran keep firing missiles at their neighbours, then the war isn't over. If the new supreme leader is out for vengeance, the war isn't over

Many leaders before trump have found out that war isn't that simple, and I don't see this one being any different

There is bound to be a mass displacement of iranians and where are they going to go? Where better than the UK where they know they will be treated well

….that was always an obvious given from the beginning, the displacement of Iranian citizens at a time when immigration has called a crisis point anyway but Trump is such a ‘surface’ person who has no thought in terms of depth or consequence etc because he rarely seems to consider or accept that he can’t control everything…and yes, I agree and realise that inflation impacts him on a personal level as well but I do also think that he’s balancing that loss up as well because he’s making these things happen so is able to build on and preserve any possible losses…maybe he’s even more wealthy through and because of the conflicts…it’s not as if for Trump, he wakes up on a given day and has to face a world he didn’t figure himself…

Russia has always supported iran. Iran has supplied most of the drones russia has used against ukraine
