Crimson Dynamo | The voice of reason

Some chap on Twitter said that Stephen Fry was a tiny bit dull in terms of what he writes on Twitter (some would say that IS Twitter) and even tho SF has 900K followers he threw his toys out of the pram and then announced that he was quitting Twitter..blah blah
Some of his friends naturally came to his defence, one, Alan Davis referred to the original complainant as a "wanker" and a "moron" My question is, is there any good in criticising one person for what he or she says by calling them names at the same time. Apart from Fry being a big sissy etc (oops) is the chap not allowed to say Fry is dull without being called a moron? Fry himself did not allow Jan Moir an opinion before he started slinging insults at her and in some ways just debasing himself in the manner of what caused his rage. What has happened to free speech in this age of communication? |

Nothing has happened to free speech. Jan Moir did not suddenly loose her voice in a freak accident involving an umbrella and a bar of soap when Stephen Fry blasted her.
The chap CAN say what he thinks, but he CAN also be subject to being called a moron. I don't see the big deal. Opinion and free speech works both ways, and expands to include insults. |

Fry apologised and based his reaction on his Bipolar disorder, which is fair enough.

Why don't you make a little quiz that tries to force people into giving an answer that pleases you like you did with that marvelous swearing thread.

But I do, of course
. Not that they are an 80's band. Or an electro pop band, for that matter. Unless you are writing from the standpoint of 1987ish. Of course it's not perfect yet, mind you. I still don't have enough hair to achieve that all important floof. And that, in itself, is the genius of 'The Stu'. |

No offence to Stu, but I don't think he exactly 'styles' his hair...

What can I say. I want to be the only person in Ireland in possession of a genuine floof.
