Nothing has happened to free speech. Jan Moir did not suddenly loose her voice in a freak accident involving an umbrella and a bar of soap when Stephen Fry blasted her.

The chap CAN say what he thinks, but he CAN also be subject to being called a moron. I don't see the big deal. Opinion and free speech works both ways, and expands to include insults.

I would debate with you in what I'm sure would be a fantastic and thought provoking discussion, but I have absolutely no idea what you are saying.

There is little point being affronted by a person and their pov if your reaction is equal too or exceeds that which offended you in the first place.

Well he had license to be offended I guess because ... well ... he was offended, and acted accordingly.

Fry was not the one who wrote that idiotic, misguided article. It was Jan Moir. And many, many people made it quiet clear what an idiotic, misguided article it was. That had to be expected. Nobody was denying her the right to free speech, they were just expressing outrage.

Which they are entitled to. It's called free speech. So free speech still exists ... yeah.

This topic was hardly made, by chance, to just bring up the Jan Moir thing again was it?
