I thought we went over this a dozens of times before. It's such a tired non-argument. How on earth would the campaign have worked if everybody bought a different single? It was necessary to do it the way it was done.

Maybe if they picked a song that was a) christmassy and b) more likable then it would work

Everyone just buys a song most people dont even like because they want to beat x factor.

But joes song is a bit better and more christmassy sounding, so i would prefer it getting number 1.
Makes me want to buy joes single just to help it get number 1 now.

Would be such a **** christmas number 1, a old not very good song.

Fairytale of new york - the Pogues is 18th in the chart
All i want for christmas - Mariah carey is 17th in the chart
Last christmas - Wham is 39th in the chart.

3 christmas songs already charted last week, and everyone listens to some (probable) loser on face book trying to get a poor rock song to number one..

Think next year i might start it before this bloke.

I prefer the RATM song and they're donating the money they make from it to charity so I hope they get No.1

Even if Joe only makes No.2 he'll still end up with more sales of the single than If he'd got to No.1 with no protest campaign

He's only a few thousand behind now, He'll be number 1 by tommorow. I do feel a little bad for Joe as he's a nice chap but It's Simon's fault, If he changed things up once in a while people wouldn't be so tired of the X Factor getting Christmas Number 1.

Yeah, It's been very interesting to watch unfold.

That's true actually, and that's a much better idea. That's my Goal was a good song I think and I didn't know it either, I mean Miley Cyrus only released the Climb herself this year, it's pure laziness on Simons part

Either that or it should be a xmas song, fit more into the season!

It's not WHAT HAPPENS. The charts dont have scripts sweetie. Anything can happen. The X-Factor does not automatically deserve to have #1.

No body is wrong. Its become a generic thing now for the X Factor winner to be Xmas No.1 However its all down to the public and if RATM get to No.1 thats purely because of the public.

It would be nice if they rather than almost always releasing a cover for xmas write a new song (possibly individual or generic whichever is easier). Originality in the songs never hurts.
