I do have to say that I don't see alot of homophobia about, people who are do seem to be in a very small minority. I think once people are out of that school environment they grow up and lose those prejudices such as homophobia very quickly
I try to keep an open mind and like everyone but of course there are some types of gays the same as there is some types of straight people I dislike. Not down to their sexuality but down to their personality, but because the personality of a gay is so closely linked with their sexuality, most times, I suppose that dislike could come across as homophobic from a straight person.

No not really, I never said the London Underground, but yes they will need to catch the tubes for the London Underground.

I'm gay, and not OTT camp, but I find it so hypocritical for somebody to say 'I'm an open minded person but I hate the OTT camp gays'

That's just stupid, if it was a girl that wasn't like that, nothing would be said about it. But if a guy IS like that, it's a huge deal.

Homophobia is also sexism. And it's common in schools but tbh, I've had it quite lucky. My whole school life, everybody that i'm friends with have never been homophobic and never say homophobic things but most of them are gay/bi girls & boys. most of the people in my school are gay/bi.

Open mindedness includes the ability to hate the way people act based on rational things like how they are as people, not natural instincts they can't help.

I can't stand OTT camps myself. I don't hate them, just don't bring them around to mine.

Of course it is. If you need to act like a girly camp queen all the time, why don't you get a sex change then ? Then you could freely express who you are. It may be radical but to me, these guys aren't men.

There is being overly camp and having girly tendencies like Gary said. I don't mind the last one because they can't help it, it's the way they talk, they move, they like certain things but the first category annoys the hell out of me.

Remy I agree, it irratates me that when you say someone is gay they associate it with this stereotype of the camp gay. All my gay friends are completely normal, in fact you probably wouldn't be able to tell they are gay!

That rather depends on your definition of what constitutes being a man! Many these days, in this non-caveman era, think that muscle-bound meatheads are not what being a real man is about. It is much more about possessing such qualities as decency, integrity, intelligence humour etc. Give me intellectual muscle over physical muscle anyday. I know many women who agree!
