Yeah I get you, quite a few American films have teenaged corny, giddy silliness. In fact them films are my guilty pleasure But I do prefer the ones that are more darker and sinister. I suppose it is the actors too. I bet if Cruel Intetions did not have Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan and Reece and that Sienna then it would not have been as good. I think there is more than one Cruel Intentions film but I don't know what the rest are like.
