I didnt say I liked it, thing is art is in the eye of the beholder. If you dont like it dont buy into it. There are good works of art and there are some dross. For example didnt buy into Emin's or a lot off Hirsts stuff. Sometimes its to make an underlying point or statement as opposed to being pleasing to the eye.

By that definition then anything is art and thus art ceases to be something or anything?

I have seen a pile of bricks classed as a work of art, a pickled shark, half a cow an unmade bed, obviously to some they see some form of artistic expression in them. As I said its in the eye of the beholder.

I suppose anything can be art, a slight difference to your anything is art.
