Problems with indoor pool - its a helluva issue with moisture, damp, mildew, house humidity and that is why only rich people have indoor pools spending thousands of pounds on humidifiers, special ventilation systems etc.
Social problem - the pool is a huge draw to get the HMs outside and wearing little clothing.
Gets them to move to different sections with different people. It really moves them in and out of scenes.
Inside pool can lead to people like BB9 Mo to actually spend the entire Summer inside and prevents the others from going and forming a clique in a different area.
Aesthetics.. well it breaks up the viewing experience to see indoor scenes and outdoor scenes.
The pool is way to get different locations.
But I think your idea could work too. I just like those kind of that are kinda halfway in and stretch into the yard.

They managed to overcome all this for an indoor pool for CBB4 which was only 3 weeks long
