I thought it was for censorship at first but so many convos you can hear the context and it sounds a regular coinvo and yet the sound goes of yet again, so often, is this a technical problem?

it can be for any of a number of things from privacy i.e. talking about people outside the house or copyright infringement i.e. singing or mentioning brand names as well as swearing the list goes on and on and it always seems a lot worse with lots of people in the house.

The main reason is their desperate need to keep the fans in the dark and to save the best bits for Highlight shows. Why would they need to censor their own instructions about tasks?

There are legitimate copyright reasons but they play the music on the highlights anyway so they have to pay for it. "Talking about adult stuff" is one of their catch all excuses as is the housemates are singing when it is patently obvious that they are talking.
