Josie knows exactly what she is doing. Do you really think she is that niave? She totally rejected him whenever he was upset and told him to stop talking about thiings and took his mike off to tell him what she didn't want us to know - she is a fake. She is manipulating him into going along with her to win it! You can't seriously not see through this?
