Actually - I wonder if she is practising a bit of reverse psychology with the public! If she portrays herself as the non-vain, down-to-earth type of girl not obsessed with her looks - she thinks they will like her more and sympathise!

After all, bearing in mind, the bb audience is predominantly female - she wants to get them on side and by not dolling herself up at every opportunity - she poses no threat, and appears more likeable! Could just be more of her manipulation!
