That's the thing about being disabled. You can criticise people for their sex or for their sexual orientation or for the colour of their skin secure in the knowledge that you will never be in that position. Any one of us, or someone we love, could become disabled tomorrow - contract a disease, hit by a car, caught in some kind of tragedy... there are a million ways it could happen. I hope the people on here that have been so critical of Steve's situation never have to cope with that. But if they are unfortunate enough to be in that position, that they remember some of the things they've said about Steve.

I imagine this place to be inhabited by the perfect race...no one is overweight, ugly, short tempered, emotional, they all have perfect hair, bodies, teeth....they've never hurt anyone, lost anyone, shouted at anyone, cried, sucked their thumb, questioned their sexuality, never bitched, they are all perfectly versed in and accomodating of every religion....
