He was probably wrong to say it in public, but you have to look at the context and how he meant it. Nothing is black and white, and there can never be yes/no answers for a question like this. In any case, wouldn't you find that dull?

Yes, I do love to explore things and very much enjoyed chatting with you recently .. you gave me a few things to mull over which was great.
The problem I have is that alot of these 'off topics' don't actually have much to do with the original issues raised.
The content of the 'off topic' today was uncomfortable reading, I realise that's just my 'problem' but added to that I didn't think it was even loosely connected to the ethics of making a disturbing remark (joke?) about his daughter.
In this instance, I think the context or how it was meant is irrelevant?
