Question The Compound?

Does anyone actually know what they are doing with the compound once Ultimate Big Brother has finished?

The house will have to be knocked down as soon as the show finishes its only a temporary wooden structure that as we have seen is on its last legs anyway.
They were only granted permission for a temporary structure by the council i suppose it will just revert to part of the studios land no idea what future plans they have for the extra space they will have but the house wont be there.

It's being knocked down.

It's so confinient that the contract for the house expires on the 13th of September and it must be demolished in Sept 2010 and the last series of BB fits around this

So yeah, it's being demolished.

It will soon be nothing but a memory like the old house in bow.
the site of the old house was better heres as it was.

and now theres no sign it ever existed

the famous bridge that housemates had to cross to get to the house.

The old house layout was a badly designed mess. The housemates had to travel AAAAAAGES. BB8 had the best outside area.

I hope if there's a BB12 the new compound has a better layout for the crowd area. A symmetrical one would be nice.

The old house was more real it was more like a house and less like a studio it had a real garden with a vegetable patch, chickens and a real lawn way better than plastic grass layed on concrete with plastic chairs.
Plus it really was isolated on the other side of a river contained in its own compound.
and it was even wrapped in foil.
i think they probably regretted making it like a real house as having hallways to get to certain rooms and things like that just made things harder for themselves to make sure they covered every bit of the house so a really open plan house for the new one was no suprise.

this was davinas first ever appearence.

the compound

It was knocked down a few series ago anyway, I'm sure. The garden used to be smaller I think.

Someone climbed into the old house in BB2 - that might have been part of the reason they moved. I prefer the new house because it has stairs going up and an almost proper crowd area so all eyes are on them when they leave.

From the clips I've seen I didn't like the house in Bow. I hated how on eviction nights all the housemates could come out and wave to the crowd.

It looked more like a mobile home than anything.

they were a hell of a long way from the crowd and they put a stop to them poking their heads out of the door within a few weeks of the start you were only 5 years old and werent interested.

A new BB house needs to be designed and built somewhere else in the UK. Somewhere VERY rural so when housemates are outside making noise.. then the people who live near by can't complain or people can't shout over the wall.

Either way I think they should knock it down and rebuild. Marcus said something nearly fell on him and could have killed him in the house last year.

At the first compound, they shouldn't have even been allowed to poke their heads out.

Completely true and I agree with you!... but basically the lease means they still can build a band new house if they like? Just means they can still use that land.

Nah, it just means Endemol have secured the site for another three years. C4 have nothing to do with it. Just Five, I'd imagine.
